Media reported that Nvidia had signed a deal with SwiftStack to take over the main object storage business. As a company founded in November 2011, SwiftStack is committed to developing object storage software for artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), and accelerated computing applications. After being under Nvidia’s inclusion, it will continue to support existing programs and develop new options based on Nvidia hardware.
SwiftStack, which raised $23.6 million and is known for its products such as SwiftStack 7, 1space, ProxyFS, Swift and Controller, is not considered a successful business by market watchers.
In retrospect, SwiftStack has worked with several companies, including Ebay, Google, Nvidia, and Valohai. In addition, the company has hardware experience from Cisco, Dell, HP Enterprise, Ultra Micro, and more.
SwiftStack will continue to develop, support, and enhance its programs after being absorbed by Nvidia. At the same time, the team’s main task will be to develop an AI infrastructure based on The Nvidia GPU and accelerate the large-scale AI deep learning pipeline.
In recent years, Nvidia has focused on collecting data center-related technologies and Ip ,especially in the area of overcalculation, underscoring the company’s business reach that has long been outof the traditional field of computer graphics.
Last year, Nvidia announced a plan to acquire Mellanox to provide a server connection solution.
Now, the company is incorporating the object storage enterprise SwiftStack to explore applications such as in-depth learning of another scalable, GPU-driven infrastructure.
The terms of the deal and more details were not disclosed, but are expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
