Google Doodle celebrates the arrival of the spring/autumn equinox

On Thursday, local time, the northern hemisphere welcomed the spring equinox, officially declaring the end of winter, one of two days of the year with near-equal day and night length,media reported. The word “spring equinox” comes from Latin, meaning “equal” and “night”. Around the world, Thursday nights and days are 12 hours. To celebrate this special occasion, Google has created a very small, fresh doodle.

In Doodle, a cute bunny floats in a hot air balloon, which can be seen decorated with elements of spring: colorful tulips, green spline and some rain.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the globe, Google is helping the southern hemisphere prepare for the autumn equinox and other shorter, cooler days. In a hot air balloon in a hot air balloon south of Google’s equator, a gray squirrel is decorated with a familiar autumn pattern.
