For the Android Go family of starterdevices, Google today unveiled a new Camera Go app. It provides a very simple user interface to take great photos without worrying about storage capacity. The app also tracks the number of photos and videos that remain available to take and recommends ways to free up space.
“Camera Go is deeply integrated into the phone’s operating system, not just photo filtering,” explains Arpit Midha, Android’s chief product manager. Google has also added portrait mode to the app, which gives a good depth-of-field look even on low-end, $50-a-year-low-end phones. “The app will make it a great way for entry-level phones,” says Midha. “
HMD’s new Nokia 1.3 will be the first Android Go device with the Camera Go app, which will go on sale in April for 95 euros ($102).
