Now, the Microsoft Edge development team based on the Chromium kernel has decided to do the same version number freeze. Like Google Chrome, Chromium Edge has daily updates for Canary and weekly updates on Dev.
Specifically, after Chrome/Chromium takes the lead, the Edge development team will pause the release of a stable version every six weeks.
As a result, The work related to Edge 81 will be frozen. In addition to the stable version, the Dev channel may also slow down, but the Canary channel does not appear to be affected for the time being.
