McDonald’s is closing all its restaurants in the UK and Ireland as a result of the outbreak,media reported. The Mirror reports that the company plans to close all its restaurants in Ireland and the UK by 7pm on Monday 23 March, as well as working with community groups to distribute food and drink in the coming days.

A McDonald’s spokesman said: “We have made the difficult decision to close all McDonald’s restaurants in the UK and Ireland by 7pm on Monday 23 March.

“It’s not an easy decision we make, but the first thing to do is to take into account the well-being and safety of our employees and the best interests of our customers.”

We will work with local community groups to responsibly distribute food and beverages from our restaurants over the next few days.
