Linus Torvalds announces seventh candidate release for Linux Kernel 5.6

Although the global pandemic of the new corona virus has had only a huge impact on people’s production and life, the kernel development team led by Linus Torvalds does not seem to slow down their development. It said today that the seventh candidate release (rc7) version of Linux Kernel 5.6 is on schedule. As a minor update, rc7 did not make a big difference.

Torvalds is optimistic about the productivity of the development team during the outbreak: although the world is uncomfortable with COVID-19, everything looks normal from a kernel development perspective.

As usual, linux Kernet 5.6-rc7 updates are focused on drivers, including gpu, mmc, staging, iio, usb, audio, VM fixes, some updates/documents/tools for Arch (primarily turbostat), and more.
