Outbreak Impact Struck Microsoft Announces Suspension of Windows 10 C/D Updates

Microsoft has announced an extension of support for Windows 10 1709 because of the spread of the outbreak, which has reduced the maintenance burden on it. On March 25, Microsoft announced a similar announcement, announcing that it would suspend cumulative updates of Windows 10’s testing C/D type and focus instead on security updates.

具体有以下3点:

1, Microsoft is focusing on security updates;

2. From May 2020, Microsoft will suspend all non-security updates (C/D class updates) for all supported versions of Windows;

3, monthly security updates (Tuesday updates) will not change and will be performed as planned to ensure business continuity and protect customer productivity.

It is believed that such a decision will also ease the burden on Microsoft employees working from home.

Google has taken similar steps, delaying the upcoming release of Chrome 82 and giving priority to security updates, followed by Microsoft’s Edge browser, which announced a delay.
