New patent suggests Huawei is considering moving the circular rear module to the upper left corner of its back

Yesterday, we saw huawei’s design patent for a circular rear module that was being placed in the center with a “ring touch screen”. Today, LetsGoDigital, a Dutch technology blog, unveiled another design for the company. The difference is that this time Huawei moved the circular rear module to the upper-left corner of the back of the fuselage.

From the patentillustration, its overall look is very similar to last year’s Mate 30 series. The biggest difference is that the rear module is moved to the upper left corner and the edge position is cut flush with the border.

Looking back at huawei’s many product lines released in recent years, it can be seen that the P-Series and Mate Series were the main features in the second half of the year, and that the round/rectangular rear module is the main difference between the two.

Huawei filed the appearance patent on July 15, 2019 and was approved on March 20, 2020, before being included in the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Global Design Database.

It’s unclear whether Huawei intends to apply the design to future phone models, but at least it’s quite a chic one for right-handed people.
