Supermarkets in places such as France remain open to the public, but the number of shoppers is restricted for security reasons, and many have taken the initiative to stay at home to avoid being infected by the new coronavirus.
The new service, launched jointly by Carrefour and Uber Eats, will launch in 15 stores in and around Paris on April 6th, before being rolled out across France. Users can shop at Carrefour’s convenience stores via the Uber Eats app or website.
Items can also be ordered by phone between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m., covering daily grocery delivery and disinfection and cleaning supplies. The average user orders 30 minutes to receive the goods.
Uber Eats will waive all Carrefour’s order delivery fees in April.
