Asustek unveiled its latest Chromebook Flip C436, which has a 14-inch screen fitted to a 2-in-1 collapsible body with a battery life of up to 12 hours and weighs less than 2.6 pounds, thanks to a magnesium alloy body that is 13.7mm thick when turned off. That’s enough to make the C436 one of the thinnest and lightest 14-inch Chromebook models on the market, Asus said.

The Chromebook Flip C436 features a tenth-generation Intel Core processor, up to the core i5 processor and Intel UHD graphics card, up to 16GB of memory, up to 512GB OfM.2 SSD, WiFi 6 (Gig plus) with four omnidirectional speakers built in, an Harman Kardon certified, a fingerprint sensor for biometric unlocking. There is also Bluetooth 5.0 and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C connectors. A microSD card slot supports up to 2TB of memory cards and a combined audio jack.
The Chromebook Flip C436 keyboard features a full-size and backlit design with a key stroke of 1.2mm. As for battery life, Asus offers a 42Wh battery capacity, enough to last 12 hours. The C436 will be available in two colors: transparent silver and Aerogel white. Both start at $799 and start today with a year-long Google One 100GB cloud disk service.
