Apple has updated its search capabilities in the Apple Maps app to focus on the most important categories that people now focus on: supermarkets, food couriers, pharmacies, hospitals and emergency care, according tomedia. When searching, the options for these categories come first, ahead of restaurants, fast food restaurants, gas stations, banks, and other categories.
Places that are currently closed, such as shopping centers, are at the bottom of the list of search categories. The changes were first noted by the German website iPhone Ticker, which also points to similar changes in the Google Maps app.
Google Maps goes further than Apple Maps, letting users know when a business is closed or shorter business hours. The app also warns users to call their doctor before going to a medical location before going to a doctor.
