Apple’s upcoming 16-inch MacBook Pro will replace the current 15-inch MacBook Pro, which starts at $2,399, according to a new Bloomberg report. The new 16-inch machine will be the largest-screen laptop Apple has sold since the 17-inch MacBook Pro was discontinued, and will cost “about the same amount” as the current 15-inch model.
Previous reports suggest the 16-inch MacBook Pro will be sold along with the 15-inch model as a high-end, more expensive option, but it doesn’t sound as expensive as initially thought.
The new MacBook Pro is said to include an improved keyboard designed to be “more reliable”, and there have been rumours that Apple will replace what was previously thought to be an innovative butterfly structure with a scissor-like keyboard.
The upcoming machine’s display will be brighter and attractive for video and photo editors, gamers, and software developers.
As for the release date, Bloomberg believes the new MacBook Pro will be available on Wednesday, while the upgraded Mac Pro will be available sometime in December.
Apple has been holding a private press conference in a New York City building, mainly for media and technology websites, and the new 16-inch MacBook Pro could be released in this format, and it is not expected to hold any major launches this year.
