Recently, well-known statistical agency Canalys released the first quarter of 2020 global smartphone market statistics, data show that Xiaomi against the market rose 9%, the world’s no. 4! The top five markets in the world are Samsung, Huawei, Apple, Xiaomi and Vivo.
Among them, Samsung’s handset shipments of 59.6 million units were firmly in the first place, accounting for 21.9% of the global share, down 17% year-on-year. Huawei shipped 49m units, accounting for 18 per cent of the total, also down 17 per cent. Apple shipped 37.1 million units, or 13.6 percent, down 8 percent from a year earlier.
The fourth and fifth place reversed the decline, Xiaomi shipped 30.2 million units, the share of 11.1%, the reverse market growth of 9%! Vivo shipped 24.2 million units, up 8.9 percent, up 3 percent.
Of course, Samsung, Huawei and Apple’s decline was mainly due to the contraction in the global smartphone market, which shipped 272 million units in the first quarter of 2020, down 13% from 313 million units in the first quarter of 2019.
The move follows February’s global smartphone statistics from statistics firm Strategy Analytics, which also showed the smartphone market suffered its worst-ever decline, with shipments down 38 per cent year-on-year.
In short, this year’s mobile phone manufacturers are not very good days, so Xiaomi’s counter-market growth is more difficult.
