Monday’s Google Doodle, in a graffiti-doodle honoring teachers who are still working in the face of the new coronavirus pandemic, who still hasn’t stopped working as schools around the world close to fight the spread of the virus, is another unsung hero on the other front, and teachers who quickly move classrooms and classes online highlight the extraordinary efforts teachers have made to educate students.
To that end, Google Home’s May 4 doodle is based on a teacher-themed design that was completed by 54 state teachers who visited Google’s headquarters in February.
Kevin Laughlin, a Google Doodle illustrator, says the process of creating Doodle was inspired by meeting the teachers. “I have experienced how much a teacher can have a positive impact on a young person’s life. He said.
Google says it has seen students and parents look for ways to express their gratitude to educators, and the “how to thank the teacher” search interest tripled last month.
