BEIJING, May 13 (UPI) — Tesla can restart production if guided, the Alameda County Department of Public Health said in a statement posted on Twitter, according to Bloomberg. It was a victory for Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Musk’s home-based quarantine order followed a restart of production at his Fremont, California, plant on Monday, despite local government orders for home segregation.
This is Tesla’s only assembly plant in the United States.
Musk’s move was backed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom and U.S. President Donald Trump. Mr. Trump tweeted Tuesday urging California to allow tesla plants to resume production. “California should let Tesla and Elon Musk open their factories now,” Trump said. This can be done quickly and safely! “
Musk said Monday that Tesla’s only u.S. auto plant is resuming production, in violation of local outbreak restrictions, and said he would be arrested if anyone was arrested as a result.
