Facebook launched its first customizable avatar worldwide last year and is now officially launched in the U.S.,media reported. They can be used in comments, stories, Messenger, and background posts, according to Facebook’s Fidji Simo.

“Today, a lot of our interactions take place online, which is why it’s more important than ever to be able to express ourselves on Facebook,” Simo wrote. For teammates, you can personalize your avatar so that it represents your unique, true self, which is very important, which is why we’ve added a new set of customizations — like new hairstyles, skin tones and clothing. It is understood the feature made its Australian debut in June last year.

It is reported that users can click the smiley face symbol button on Facebook or Messenger’s comment editor, then click on the sticker tag to start creating an avatar, and finally select “Create avatar.”
