Seagate has launched its first Thunderbolt 3 storage extension designed for laptop gamers to easily increase the capacity and load speed of game warehouse disks via the FireCuda (STJF4000400) gaming docking station. In addition to the common expansion ports – 5 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 x 1 x Thunderbolt 3 (Daisy Chain Support) and DisplayPort 1.4 plus 3.5mm Audio Input / Output Interface – it also has an M.2 NVMe SSD (PCIe 3.0 x4) slot built in, as well as up to 4TB of HDD.

To appeal to gamers, the FireCuda gaming dock also integrates RGB LED lights and can be controlled with the accompanying software.
Seagate says it hopes to provide a solution to the modern ultra-thin laptop market through the launch of the FireCuda gaming docking station, as fewer laptops are equipped with storage components that users can easily access/upgrade.
Portable PCs often lack enough game storage space and do not have rich ports to accommodate a full range of peripherals. With that in mind, the Thunder 3 docking station makes a lot of sense.
Finally, Seagate FireCuda is available later this month for $349.99 (2458 RMB).
