BMW official announces new 5 Series in two weeks: New 48V light mixing system

According tomedia reports, on May 14, local time, BMW Group CEO ChipPzer announced at THE 100th bmw shareholders’ meeting that the mid-term modified BMW 5 Series will be unveiled in two weeks. In addition, the meeting mentioned that the new 5 Series will be introduced electric and conventional models will be equipped with a 48V light mix system. However, it is not known whether the 48V light mix system will be used in diesel or petrol models.

Previously, the 48V light mixing system has been used in x5, X6 and other diesel models, can further reduce emissions and fuel consumption levels.

Combined with the previously leaked overseas version of the official map, the new 5 series for the head of the redesign, “double kidney” air grille is larger, and like the 7 series with chrome-plated decoration connected together, while the internal light set is also divided by the “L-shaped” LED light belt, looks more technical.

The tail changes little, but the tail light set becomes more refined and flat, while the blackened treatment further accentuates the sense of style and movement.

In terms of power, the new 5 Series will be powered by a 2.0T engine with low/high power tuning, with a maximum power of 204/280 horsepower. The plug-in models will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system based on a 2.0T engine, while the combined maximum power and pure-electric NEDC range for the new car have yet to be officially announced.

In addition, the mid-term modified 5 Series will be introduced electric models and conventional models will be equipped with a 48V light mix system.
