Elon Musk still has time to spark controversy on Twitter, according tomedia CNET. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO’s reference to the Hacking Empire on Twitter on Sunday drew a Twitter response from Ivanka Trump. All this, however, disappointed Lily Wachowski, the film’s creator.
Musk wrote on Twitter: “Swallow the red pill” with a rose emoji, referring to Murphys giving Neo a choice between taking the red pill to learn the truth about the hacking empire or taking the blue pill to continue his life of ignorance.
Ivanka Trump tweeted a response: “Take! Lily Wachowski, who has directed Hacking Empire several times, replied: “F—k both of you! “
She then shared a link to the LGBTQ nonprofit Brave Space Alliance, calling for support.
The exact meaning of Musk’s remarks is still to be guessed. Politically, “swallowing the red pill” can mean shifting a political position to the right. This is often used on online forums linked to Donald Trump or men’s rights groups on Red Pill reddit, which dates back to 2013.
Musk has recently posted a number of controversial tweets. Last week, he threatened to relocate Tesla’s California headquarters and would sue the county over its “in-place asylum” order in San Francisco’s Alameda County.
Meanwhile, Lana Wachowski’s fourth “Hacking Empire” film is in the works, with Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss returning to play Neo and Trinity. Lily Wachowski wasn’t involved in the latest “Hacking Empire” because she was busy with the Showtime series Work in Progress, but she was blessed with the film. “Hacking Empire 4” may resume filming in July after a moratorium in March due to a new crown outbreak.
