Elon Musk, ceo of electric car maker Tesla, will donate $500,000 to the Hack Club. The Hacker Club, a non-profit organization that promotes computer programming in high schools, was founded by Zach Latta.
The organization works with high school students to help them build programming clubs in their schools and guide them with the latest programming software. It provides basic programming courses, software tools, and training instructions.
The group said on its official website that it wanted to use the money to help more than 1,000 students set up and join hacking clubs in their towns. It plans to continue most of what they already do: spend as little money as possible at all times, slowly grow and grow, and add diverse staff to make the Hacking Club better.
Musk’s support is significant for the group. The organization says the donation will allow the organization to reach more potential members, which will help increase the organization’s influence in high schools across the country.
Musk’s generosity to the group has provided the necessary funding for the development of the Hacking Club, as well as additional benefits for members already in the group.
