On May 23, Tesla’s charging, energy and infrastructure teams added two new jobs for energy and project development engineering managers to Tesla’s Shanghai Port-of-Hong Kong Super factory, according to news reports. In addition, Tesla is also hiring a grid/power generation side business development manager whose primary responsibility is to lead Tesla’s power grid and power generation operations in China, according to another recruitment message released on May 6 on Tesla’s official WeChat platform.

On May 15, the Shanghai Free Trade Zone’s New Area Management Committee released the “China (Shanghai) Free Trade Pilot Zone, Lingang New Zone Integrated Energy Construction Three-Year Action Plan (2020-2022),” which proposes that by 2020, 10 distributed photovoltaic power generation projects, such as the Shanghai Aircraft and Tesla Phase I, will be built with a total construction capacity of more than 20MW.
