Elon Musk’s space exploration technology company SpaceX said Tuesday that it has raised $346.2 million in a new funding round. SpaceX will launch its first manned rocket at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Wednesday, sending two U.S. astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS), ending a nine-year hiatus on manned spaceflight.
U.S. President Donald Trump will attend the launch, which will be crucial for Musk, SpaceX and NASA.
If SpaceX succeeds in launching the manned rocket, it would represent a milestone, meaning that reusable spacecraft will be produced in the future to reduce the cost of space travel.
Musk is the founder and current CEO of SpaceX, and he is also tesla CEO.
SpaceX has raised more than $567 million, including the latest funding round, and the company is valued at about $36 billion,media reported.
