Prominent sources Jason Schreier and Wang Yuezong have jointly reported to Bloomberg that SIE will host a PS5 online launch event focusing on ps5 games, possibly as early as next week. The virtual event is likely to take place on June 3, but may also change dates due to changes in plans, and other events for PlayStation 5 are likely to be held in the coming weeks and months, with Sony not expected to reveal all the important details of the console during its first demo.
Sony declined to comment.
The Japanese tech giant has so far revealed only a small portion of the PlayStation 5. The company also said it plans to launch the console this Christmas season, even though the Covid-19 outbreak has affected its publicity program. Fans are already eager to know about the new series of games to be launched with the console, and what new ones will be available later.
Microsoft, Sony’s biggest rival, has released regular live and updated news about its upcoming new console, the Xbox X. But most game publishers’ announcement plans have been disrupted by the outbreak, and many have changed their scheduled live press conferences to pre-recorded presentations.
