According tomedia reports, recently, BMW released 2021 model 4-series two-door new coupe. It is understood that as early as 2014, BMW decided to change the name of the 3 Series sedan and convertible to the 4 Series. After several years of development, the 4 series has established a sporty and elegant style. Now, the second generation of the 4 series grand debut, I believe that for this car everyone first see the biggest change is – the super-large kidney grille.
Many people are reluctant to buy this new design. More powerful, BMW’s explanation is that the larger grille is designed to cool the more powerful engine under the hood. The new large grille is tilted forward and extends to the front bumper. Perhaps with this explanation, people will slowly get used to this design and eventually like it.
It is understood that the 2021 4-series coupe body than the 3-series coupe run 2.2 inches, 1.0 inches wide, 2.2 inches lower. But the new model is about 5.2 inches long and 1.6 inches long in wheelbase, compared with the upcoming 4-series coupe. In the new 4 Series coupe the driver basically got a bigger car than before, which adds to the overall look and spacious car.
Thankfully, the new 4-series coupe retains a longer bonnet and a slimmed roof design. It also has frame windows and more spherical fenders. In addition, the hoods, fenders and doors are now made of aluminum. The optional M Sport Kit adds a new front bumper and larger air openings, a new rear bumper, and more.
In addition, the new 4-series coupe adds a more powerful turbocharged engine. Of these, the 430i and 430i xDrive are powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder, with output power and torque peaks of 255 hp and 294 lb-ft, respectively, 7 hp and 36 torque solder than older engines. According to BMW, this allows the new 430i to achieve a 100km acceleration in 5.5 seconds, while the xDrive model is shorter, requiring only 5.3 seconds. The M440i XDrive is powered by a 3.0L inline six-cylinder with output power and torque of 382 hp and 329 lb-ft, respectively, a staggering 62 hp and 39 lb-ft more than the previous inline six-cylinder drive.
Both engines are paired with an 8-speed motion automatic transmission and transmit control. The 430i is rear-wheel drive, while the xDrive model sits all-wheel drive. In addition, the M440i xDrive is equipped with an M motion differential to improve traction and car handling. The M440i also has a 48-volt hybrid system, which further improves performance. In addition, it provides power for a standard automatic start-stop to save fuel.
As for vehicle handling, the new 4 Series will handle better than the regular 3 series. The hard chassis and wider rear wheel pitch give it a lower center of gravity than the 3-series. Combined with innovative dual-joint springs, lift-related shock absorbers, and lower ride heights, the new 4 Series delivers sharper handling and more accurate steering sensations. The M Sport suspension and adaptive M suspension systems are optional.
All 4-series coupe standard configurations are 18-inch alloy tires, 19-inch alloy tires or staggered 19-inch tires. In terms of safety, lane departure warning and steering correction, frontal collision alert, pedestrian braking, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alerts, etc. are standard for the new 4 Series. Consumers can also opt for a 3D surround panoramic camera with an optional Parking Assistance Package, which includes a backup assistant and remote 3D view featurethat that displays 3D images of parked vehicles on any smartphone.
The BMW 4-series coupe will feature a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen with the iDrive 7, navigation system and BMW Smart Personal Assistant, which can recognize voice commands. The real-time cockpit pro display — including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen and a full-digital 12.3-inch meter console — is available for selection. Of course, both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
BMW 2021 4-series coupe global market launch is scheduled for October 2020. In terms of price, the 430i coupe starts at $46,595 and the 430i xDrive costs $48,595 (including $995 for shipping). Meanwhile, the top M440i xDrive coupe starts at $59,495.
