Facebook has launched three new features to add fundraising on its platform: a new Instagram donation button, a fundraising sticker on Facebook and a broader fundraising event on Facebook Live, foreign media reported.
The Instagram button may be a change that generates the most new donations. Nonprofits can now add a donation button to their Instagram profile — right next to the phone number they listed– and the button will be permanent. Previously, they could only add donation stickers to Stories, and they disappeared 24 hours after they were added.
Facebook, for its part, offers its game charity live stream to more premium players. They will be able to choose a reason and ask their audience for donations. Streaming producers will also be able to set a target number, and a notification pops up in the chat window when an audience donates, causing the streaming producer to shout out individual users.
In addition, Facbeook will help nonprofits find volunteers who can list relevant information on their pages and register interested people remotely.
