Instagram announced today that its number of likes in hidden posts in seven countries is now taking to the world, foreign media reported. According to a tweet posted on Instagram, if a user account is in a test environment, he will not be able to see the number of likes for posts he posts/share on the feed — unless they go to their home page.
While this may seem like a good move to reduce the number of likes that Instagram users post only when they’re designed to get likes, the number of likes is important for some users because it can prove the value of their posts to advertisers or potential partners. Instagram acknowledged this in another tweet and said it was actively considering other ways for creators to communicate their value to their partners.
Facebook, The parent company of Instagram, is understood to be conducting a similar hidden test in Australia.
