In the newly released version of the Chrome Canary Channel, the PWA application is allowed to be a boot erstlet in windows. The Same Feature is introduced in the newly released Canary Channel 85.0.535.0 update, also based on Chromium’s Edge browser.
Now Microsoft has also brought this improvement to Edge Canary users, enabling PWA apps to be enabled with Windows on. This feature was originally discovered by themedia TechDows and is hidden behind a Flag. If you’re using Microsoft Edge Canary, you can follow the steps below to enable the feature.
1. Start Edge Canary (85.0.535.0 or later) and type “edge://flags” in the address bar.
2. Type “Desktop PWA run on OS login” in the search bar.
3. Click the drop-down menu and select Enabled.
4. Restart your browser
After the Edge browser is restarted, users can access PWA-enabled websites (such as twitter.com) and click Install on the address bar. In the Install this site as an app dialog box, check the “Start application when you log in to your PC” option, and then click Install. This way, the PWA app will start the next time Windows is turned on.
It’s unclear how users removed the app from the boot entry because Google doesn’t offer the “Launch app when you log in to your computer” option. However, the user can open the startup folder and manually delete the PWA application. 要做到这一点,按Windows+R打开运行,输入”%APPDATA%MicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartup “打开启动文件夹并删除快捷方式。
