An asteroid numbered 163348 (2002 NN4) will fly over Earth today. The planet was discovered in 2002 and orbits the sun, with a cycle of about 300 Earth days. The planet, which is between 250 and 570 meters in diameter, will reach its closest distance to Earth at 11:20 a.m. Beijing time.

The asteroid is classified as a potentially dangerous asteroid because it intersects Earth’s orbit, but it is 3.2 million miles from Earth at its closest point, 13 times the distance between the moon and Earth, and therefore does not pose a real threat to Earth, the source said.
