Microsoft last week released the Windows 10 May 2020 update to millions of Windows 10 users worldwide. After installing this update, Windows 10 PCs using Intel Optane SSD face “Intel Optane Memory Pinning Error: ‘Unable to load DLL’iaStorAfServiceAPI.dll”Encountered” error.
Intel Optane SSDs provide high throughput, low latency, high-quality service and durability. It enables fast system start-up, fast application load times, and smooth multitasking. Intel and Microsoft are aware of the problem and they are working to solve it. At the same time, you can resolve the error yourself by following these steps:
First, refresh the currently installed driver package by repairing the Intel Optane memory pin extension.
Open the program and features (press Windows Keys and R), type ‘appwiz.cpl’, and click OK.
Find and highlight Intel Optane Pinning Explorer Extensions, click Repair.
Then, delete the old pinning package so that no errors occur after the next operating system update.
The method is to open Device Manager (press Windows Keys plus X) and expand the Software Components field.
Right-click the Intel (R) Pinning Shell Extensions field and select Uninstall Device.
Check the box “Remove driver software for this device” and click Uninstall to resolve the current awkward compatibility issue sq.i.e. windows 10 and Optane devices.
