June 8 (UPI) — A designer has rendered the Tesla electric pickup Cybertruck into a lunar rover, according tomedia reports. So, will it become a reality soon? Tesla and SpaceX, two of Elon Musk’s companies, are understood to be planning to work together to expand synergies.
The two companies now share more employees and make tools for each other. SpaceX is also buying millions of dollars worth of auto parts from Tesla.
Given that SpaceX has purchased power systems from Tesla for its spacecraft, it may not be far away for the two sides to join forces to build a probe in the future?
Designer and Instagram user Charlie Automotive took a look at it and decided to visualize it, creating a rendering of the Tesla’s network car converted into a lunar rover.
Electric vehicles have a long history of space travel because combustion engines are designed to work in the atmosphere, while electric motors generate torque in a wider environment. When Audi began developing the next generation of electric cars, they developed an electric lunar rover.
Tesla Cybertruck looks like it’s from a sci-fi movie, so with this design, it doesn’t look out of step with the rendering of a lunar rover or lunar probe.
Musk once joked that Tesla Cybertruck was built for the end of the world because of its bulletproof glass and ultra-hard steel casings. Some of these features may help SpaceX convert the electric car into a lunar or even marsupal rover. Musk also said, “Tesla Cybertruck will be the official truck of Mars.” “
Two years ago, Musk said he wanted Tesla and SpaceX to work together to develop a car called cyborg Tesla. Will it look like the rendering above? Will it be a Tesla Cybertruck pickup with a built-in SpaceX Dragon?
