Research Institute: BOE Smartphone OLED Panel’s Global Revenue Share Increased to 12% at The End of the Year

In its report, the DSCC said BOE’s share of global smartphone OLED panel revenue rose to 6 per cent in the first quarter from 1.9 per cent in the fourth quarter of last year, almost surpassing LG’s, which is expected to account for 12 per cent in the fourth quarter.

In its report, DSCC said boE’s share of revenue in the smartphone OLED panel market increased mainly due to two factors, starting with the introduction of new 5G smartphones, which are widely used for OLED screens, and second, expanding supply to more Huawei models and starting to supply new customers such as OPPO, Xiaomi and even Apple.

Smartphones now account for a large proportion of THE world’s OLED screens, and DSCC estimates in its report that the OLED panels used by smartphones will account for more than 80 percent of the $33 billion in revenue in the global OLED panel market this year.

The significant increase in the share of smartphone OLED panel revenue means that BOE’s share of global OLED panel revenue will also be significantly increased, DSCC data show that in the first quarter of this year, BOEOLED panel revenue in the global share of the global increase from 2.6% in the fourth quarter of last year to 5.6%.
