On the morning of June 15th, according to the latest data from the Sensor Tower Store Intelligence Platform, China’s Mobile Game products ranked TOP30 in overseas markets in May 2020, with the following changes in detail.
Top 30 list of go-to-sea income
With the opening of the 13th season and the update of the new map and other content, Tencent ‘pubG MOBILE reached the top of the U.S. iOS Mobile game on May 13, sucking $106 million in the month, up 14% month-on-month, up 33% year-on-year, and again refreshing the domestic Mobile game’s revenue record. In overseas markets, PUBG MOBILE was the highest-earning Mobile game in May, surpassing the best-selling overseas hits such as Roblox, Monster Marbles and Coin Master.
NetEase’s Wilderness Action took back $8.6 million on May 1 to regain the top spot on Japan’s iOS bestseller list, with revenue up 38% month-on-month and up 47% year-on-year, the highest since its release, thanks to a seven-year-old bond and Japan’s May Day Golden Week.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has maintained strong growth in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia since its launch in 2016. This edition of the 515 series attracted more than 80 million active users worldwide, with revenue and downloads at record highs in May, up 78% and 46% year-on-year, respectively.
All three doomsday survival SLGMobile game revenues rose. Among them, FunPlus’s State Survival revenue increased by 37% month-on-month and rose to 8th place, further strengthening FunPlus’s dominance at sLG tracks overseas.
Thanks to the excellent performance in the Japanese market, The Runner’s “Junior Three Kingdoms 2” was shortlisted for 29th place. Of these, the Japanese market contributed 54% of its revenue and Hong Kong and Taiwan contributed 46%. In the three countries theme, comic style and card card three core settings, “Junior Three Kingdoms” (Three Kingdoms Zhi-Junior) all seize the Japanese players’ game preferences, the current local income is still growing steadily.
As Chinese manufacturers invest more resources in overseas markets and further enhance their overseas capabilities, the entry threshold for this issue increased to $10m, up 34% from the same period last year.
Top 30 list of downloads at sea
PUBG MOBILE topped the list with more than 32 million downloads. The top three markets for downloads in May were India, Egypt and Turkey, at 38%, 7% and 7%, respectively. PUBG MOBILE currently has nearly 600 million overseas users;
Thanks to the demographic dividends in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and the social attributes of competitive Mobile game, Endless Duel is also at the top of the list all year round, with more than 330 million players overseas.
“Art of War” was the highest-grossing medium game on the list, with in-app purchases of $4.1 million in May. Since its launch last November, the game has totaled more than 22.6 million downloads and gross in-app revenue of more than $15 million.
The list features three new faces: Area F2, Baby Rescue Team, and the shooting game “Strike Strike.”
