Tencent recently took a stake in veteran game maker Sumo Digital, which currently owns about 10 percent of the total, according to a new report by Gamesindustry. Sumo Digital’s works include Team Sonic Racing, Sonic All-Star Racing, LittlebigPlanet 3, Crackdown 3, Forza Horizon 2, and more.
This time, Sumo Digital shareholder Perwyn reached an agreement with Tencent to acquire a 9.96 percent stake in Sumo Digital, or about 15 million shares.
The latest news about Sumo Digital should be a new project with 2K announced in July, and the details of the project have not yet been officially made public.
Tencent has invested in a number of gaming companies, including LOL developer Riot Games, PUBG developer BlueHole, Epic Games, Ubisoft and more.
