On November 16th, according tomedia reports, WIPO has revealed Huawei’s patent for a new foldable mobile phone design. According to the patent, Huawei presents a new foldable scheme. Unlike mate X left and right folding, the scheme uses folding up and down, with hinges in the middle of the phone, similar to a traditional flip phone.
Of course, patents do not necessarily mean that there will be related products. Considering that folding-screen phones will be one of the industry’s development directions, Huawei is not ruled out the possibility of launching such folding phones in the future.
Up and down folding and left and right folding are two folding screen ideas, the former is expanded after the full screen mobile phone form, the latter expanded after the tablet form.
In contrast, the former advantage is portable, folded its three-ring size is smaller, easier to carry, while the latter’s advantage is the largescreen, after the expansion of the field of view area is larger, but also can take advantage of the advantages of large screen to develop related interactions, such as multi-tasking on the same screen.
Finally, Huawei’s first folding-screen phone, mate X, went on sale at 10:08 a.m. on November 15, selling for 16,999 yuan.
