Eighteen years ago, on November 15th, Microsoft officially launched its Xbox to join the game console wars, changing the landscape of Western consoles. At the time, Microsoft’s Xbox faced competition from Sony PS2, Nintendo NGC and Sega DC to lay the groundwork for a great gaming experience for the next decade.
Bill Gates unveiled the Xbox at the CES Electronics Consumer Show in 2001. For 18 years, Microsoft has been developing the Xbox brand, constantly innovating hardware and content, and now we’re looking forward to their fourth-generation Xbox Scarlett. Perhaps, on next year’s 20th anniversary, Microsoft will also launch a mini Xbox brush wave?
