Microsoft today released the KB4567523 cumulative update for the Windows 10 May 2020 (20H1/Version 2004) feature update, focusing on fixing previous user-feedback printer issues. Microsoft has previously fixed this issue by releasing a cumulative update for Version 1909/1903/1809.
“Fixes an issue that prevents some printers from printing properly,” Microsoft wrote in its update log. Print spooler may produce an error or unexpected shutdown and the affected printer will not have any output. You may also experience problems in the application you are trying to print, such as receiving an error, or the application may close unexpectedly. This issue may also affect software-based printers, such as when printing PDFs. “

Previously, a number of administrators confirmed that the affected printers include Ricoh, HP, Brothers, Canon, Toshiba and Panasonic. We initially found that Windows 10 KB4560960 and other updates appeared to cause conflicts with PCL 5 and PCL 6 v2 drivers on network-based printers.
