Recently, media reported that Microsoft has not yet announced a low-power version of the Xbox Series X model (possibly named Xbox Series S), or the same design as the previous generation of Xbox One X. In a report on Xbox Lockhart, Thurott revealed that the Xbox Series S can be installed in a plastic case of the Xbox One X or Xbox One S. The Xbox One S has a slimmer body than the Xbox Series X in the square.
The information is said to come from developers who are familiar with Microsoft, and the studios need to keep it a secret before the host is officially released. In the case of the Xbox Series X, Microsoft’s message to developers is that “the new main opportunity is built into a large fuselage similar to a tower PC or subwoofer.”
As for the low-power version of the Xbox Series S, Microsoft revealed that “pre-retail hardware will be stuffed into a body similar to the previous generation of Xbox One X or Xbox One S.” It’s about half the size of the Xbox Series X, but it’s a far cry from what many people think it is.
