Boeing may shut down production lines for 747 jumbo jets

On July 4th Foreign Media Engadget reported that Boeing, the US aircraft manufacturer, might shut down the production line of its jumbo jet Boeing 747. Boeing announced that 16 of its current orders for the 747 have yet to be delivered and that it will permanently halt production of the 747 jumbo jet when the final order is completed.

Boeing expects the last 747 to go off-route in the next two years or so, according to current production cycles, which also means the “Queen of the Sky” will be around the scene.

So far, Boeing has received orders for 16 747-8F cargo planes, including 12 from global logistics company UPS, according to Bloomberg.
