The benchmark for AMD Ryzen 7 4700G, an APU processor, has been re-exposed, and this time it has proven it to have strong overclocking potential. Screenshots shared on Facebook show that the eight Zen 2 cores of the Ryzen 7 4700G can even operate at a full core 4.75GHz with a common thermal solution. In terms of chip design, the Ryzen 7 4700G is much like the 65W packaged version of the Ryzen 7 3800X chip on a desktop platform.

Compared to the small chip designs seen on the Ryzen 3000 “Matisse” series processors, the Ryzen 4000 “Renoir” series APU integrates the 7nm Zen 2 CPU and the 7nm Vega GPU core. This not only leads to higher energy efficiency and performance, but also significant improvements in latency and bandwidth.

As you can see from the CPU-Z screenshot, ryedragon 7 4700G has 8 cores / 16 threads, 4MB L2 and 8MB L3 caches (desktop-grade Ryzen 7 3800X is 32MB L3 cache) with AM4-compatible slots. The base frequency is 3.6GHz, with a dynamic up to 4.45GHz, and the thermal design consumes 65W.

Graphics, the Ryzen 7 4700G APU integrates a 7nm Vega GPU with eight CUs (512 cores) and a frequency of up to 2100MHz, making it the most frequently-frequented nuclear display available today.

CPU tests on the Asrock B550 Taichi motherboard and DDR4-3800 CL16 memory platform show that the Ryzen 7 4700G can achieve a frequency of 47.75 at 1.425V voltage and 100MHz external frequencies in manual overclocking mode.

At this point, all eight physical cores of this APU have reached a frequency of 4.75 GHz, a significant improvement over the previous generation Matisse Octa-Core APU competition.

Be aware that on a 3800X or 3700X without a nuclear display, some big mines can hardly even break the 4.3GHz air-cooled overclocking limit. But with a TDP of only 65W of 4700G, it’s easy to capture higher clock frequencies.

In addition, the temperature data presented by CPU-Z at 41 degrees C show ninth, this overclocked demonstration did not use the liquid nitrogen (LN2) scheme, most likely a normal air-cooled or water-cooled scheme.
