July 8 (UPI) — Deutsche Telekom, which has scaled back its business dealings with Huawei over the past three years, said on Tuesday that reports of “strengthening cooperation with Huawei” were not consistent with the facts, according tomedia reports. Earlier on Tuesday, German media, citing internal Deutsche Telekom documents, said the company had strengthened its cooperation with Huawei.
Deutsche Telekom relies on Huawei as a supplier for 5G networks, broadband expansion, cloud services and television. Reported that the two companies agreed to germany’s 5G network to increase the use of “no U.S. products” components.
German media also said that Deutsche Telekom also asked Huawei in Germany to provide it with a technological advantage over its competitors to ensure its leading position in the 5G network.
