According tomedia reports, on April 16, the first quarter of the earnings analyst conference call, TSMC CEO Wei Zhejia has revealed that their 5nm process has been large-scale mass production,media have also reported that they have been using the 5nm process in April for Apple’s iPhone 12 will be equipped with the A14 processor this fall. But in its second-quarter results released this afternoon, TSMC did not disclose revenue from the 5nm process.
TSMC lists the proportion of process sources and the percentage of platform sources of revenue in its financial report. Process sources list only the percentage of revenue contributed by 7nm and above, nor are there any other revenue represented.
From TSMC’s revenue contribution of various types of processes, 16nm and 7nm processes are still the main source of their revenue, 16nm process esparta contributed 18% of their revenue in the second quarter, 7nm process esadded 36%, their largest source of revenue, the two processes contributed tSMC’s second quarter revenue of 54%. 28nm is another process with revenues of more than 10%, accounting for 14% of second-quarter revenue.
By platform, smartphone chips remain the main source of TSMC revenue, accounting for 47% of revenue, high-performance computer chips contributed TSMC revenue of 33% in the second quarter, Internet of Things chips accounted for 8% of revenue, automotive chips 4%, digital consumer electronics chips 5% and others 3%.
