Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox One X and Xbox One S all-digital consoles are out of production, leaving only the Xbox One S console with an optical drive still in production, in what appears to be making way for the Xbox Series X and the rumored low-end console Lockhart to make room.
A Microsoft spokesman, The Verge, said: “As we enter the future with the Xbox Series X, we are taking the normal step of discontinuing the Xbox One X and Xbox One S full digital versions.” The Xbox One S will continue to be produced and sold worldwide. “
Although the Xbox One X and Xbox One S are now out of business, there is still some inventory at major retail stores in the coming months, and a Microsoft spokesman said players could go to their local retail stores to check more details about the next Xbox One slot.
The Xbox Series X will be available this Christmas holiday.
