This morning (July 23), MediaTek announced the launch of the new 5G SoC (single chip product) Tianyi 720. In terms of specifications, the Tianyi 720 is built with TSMC 7nm technology, CPU 8 core design, large core is two 2GHz Cortex-A76, small core is 6 2GHz Cortex-A55, GPU integrated Mali-G57 MC3, support up to 12GB LPDDR4X-2133 memory, UFS 2.2 flash memory, etc.
In terms of communications, single chip integrated 5G baseband, support SA/NSA dual mode, Sub 6GHz band, peak speed 2.34Gbps, support 5G and 4G dual-card dual-wait function (can make both SIM calls and answer calls), support 2×2 Wi-Fi5, Bluetooth 5.1 and Beidou navigation. Officially, the Sky720 also integrates voice wake-up (VoW) to minimize the standby power of the voice assistant.
In terms of advanced features, the Skyx 720 supports 1080P resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10 plus display, 4K 30P H.264/265/VP9 video decoding, 4K 30P H.264/265 video encoding, etc., and ISP supports up to 64 megapixels.
Unfortunately, there is no official clarity as to when commercial terminals will appear.
