Tesla Model Y sold more than twice as many cars as the Model X in June.

Tesla launched the model Y, a cross-border sport utility vehicle, in March last year and began delivering it to consumers in the first quarter of this year, but after Model Y began delivering, Tesla consolidated its production and delivery of the Model 3 every quarter, so it was not immediately clear how much the Model Y would sell.

Tesla Model Y sold more than twice as many cars as the Model X in June.

But model Y sold 7,500 vehicles worldwide in June, the third-highest-selling electric car in the world in June, accounting for 3.26 per cent of electric cars sold worldwide, according to the agency.

The two electric cars sold in June were the Model Y, the Tesla Model 3 and the Renault Zoe, which sold 35,854 and the Renault Zoe, with 10,553.

In addition to model Y and Model 3, Tesla’s other electric model, the Model X, also made the top 20 global sales in June, with 3,599 units sold, less than half of the Model Y’.
