Amazon appears to be facing more antitrust issues, according tomedia reports. New York Attorney General Letitia James has joined the investigation into Amazon’s market influence, Bloomberg reported. The media reported Monday that James’ office is working with The California Attorney General and the FTC to investigate the e-commerce giant.
The move comes after Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos was questioned by the U.S. House Antitrust Committee last week about allegations that the company unfairly treated small sellers on its platform. He was joined by the ceos of Apple, Facebook and Alphabet, and the business practices of the next three companies were severely questioned.
U.S. Congress, the FTC, the Justice Department, european union and state attorneys general have launched a series of antitrust investigations against Amazon, Facebook, Alphabet and Apple. There have been reports that attorneys general in California and Washington, d’a., and the FTC have launched investigations into Amazon, though Amazon has not publicly confirmed the investigations.
Both Amazon and the New York state attorney general declined requests for comment.
