In an interview withmedia, Langdon said the prototype of the mechanical pegasus came from a mythical story and was a female pegasus named “Rider Nebula.” The sculpture was designed using the Rhino 3D CAD system and then built for three months with the help of mechanical engineer Tom West (and other engineers), with a wingspan and height of about 35 feet (10.7 m).

The pegasus is made mainly from laser-cut/welded steel and hand-polished aluminum, and is equipped with a 2-hp motor acquired on a 1980s golf car, with BMW’s rear drive accelerator, allowing the peg to run and fly. And at night, the two wings, neck and tail parts of the pegasus burn.
