August 7 news, MediaTek today announced that the 5G PC program in cooperation with Intel has made important recent progress, recently through the development and certification of 5G modem data card, successfully bring the 5G experience to the next generation of personal computers, the first end products will be available in early 2021. MediaTek’s T700 5G modem, which provides 5G connectivity to Intel PCs, has successfully completed 5G independent networking (SA) calls in the actual test scenario.
According to reports, MediaTek T700 modem supports sub-6GHz band 5G network non-independent (NSA) and independent network (SA), providing faster, reliable and stable 5G connectivity. Consumers can browse the web, stream and play games on a high-speed 5G network, both at home and on the road. MediaTek modems also feature energy-efficient productfeatures that extend the battery life of laptops and reduce user charging frequency.
It is reported that the first products of the T700 5G modem, which is equipped with MediaTek to provide 5G connectivity to Intel personal computers, will be available in early 2021.
