Microsoft Photo App Gets New Icon Based on Fluent Design Style

Microsoft is now fulfilling one of its previous promises to introduce “Fluent” modern-style icons on all platforms. The software giant has been drawing new icons for applications in stages since the company first announced the latest Office icons in November. Interestingly, Microsoft didn’t seem to be happy with the icon of the Photos app, so it introduced a new icon shortly after the design was announced.

As shown in the image above, the new icon has a white border around it, and another noticeable change is the disappearance of a dark background.

Previously, apps including Windows File Browser, Mail and Calendar, Calculator, Camera, Painting, Photos and more have been unveiled, and the full set of designs is expected to debut in full on the Windows 10X operating system for portable devices.
