Microsoft releases Intel micro-code updates for Windows 10.

For all supported Windows 10 updates, Microsoft has released a new Intel micro-code update that mitigates four micro-architecture data sampling (MDS) threats. These updates are now available to all users through the Update Catalog website. However, running some versions of Intel processors requires receiving updates through Windows Update.

Microsoft releases Intel micro-code updates for Windows 10.

Microcode updates are designed to fix hardware vulnerabilities that require not only software fixes, but also firmware-level changes. The best examples of such updates are the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities, which require multiple software and micro-code updates. The most recent updates are for multi-generational processors, covering desktops and laptops.
