Geely has been buying Volvo for a decade, and over the years Geely has boosted its product power by sharing Volvo’s technology, and Geely and Volvo have jointly established Polestar, a high-end new energy vehicle brand. Polar Star has launched two models, the high-performance plug-in hybrid GT sports car Polestar 1 and the compact all-electric Porsche 2, which is locked in as model 3 by its main rival.
Recently, according tomedia reports, Tesla’s main sales model Model 3 sales in several key markets, Volvo’s high-performance electric vehicle brand Polesar 2 exceeded.
Norway’s OFV data showed polestril 2 sold 504 units in August, while Tesla Model 3 sold only 264 units, while Sweden’s BIL data showed Polesar 2 sold 284 units in August, surpassing Model 3’s 235.
It is understood that Polestar 2 is designed and developed in Europe, manufactured at the Taizhou plant in China, and is a model sold simultaneously to the global market.
The car was released on April 12, 2019, with two versions available, the base version and the initial version, with the manufacturer’s guide price of $298,000 and $418,000, respectively.
In terms of power, polestar 2 is equipped with a front and rear dual-motor four-wheel drive pure electric drive system with a combined maximum power of 408 horsepower, a peak torque of 660 Nm, and an acceleration time of 4.7 seconds from 0-100km/h.
